Default Notts County in Takeover Deal

Notts County look set to be taken over by a Middle Eastern consortium in a multi-million pound deal.

Munto Finance Ltd says it has agreed to buy the Magpies and wants complete control of the League Two club.

However, the Notts County Supporters' Trust, the club's majority shareholder, has yet to sanction the deal.

If only Barry had waited a few more days

Notice that I didn't say "are they allowed to".

It seems like a strange club to buy is all considering it has the minority of support in a small city.

Nottingham isn't that small a City and they certainly have a great location, ground and structure to move onwards and upwards.

I have been to Notts County a few times and I really enjoyed it there, they are a small club with a great ground who are just waiting for the bigger things in football and this could be the change they need.

I have always said that if I was a rich man I would buy a small club and make them big and aim for the Premiership, what more could you want it's much better than just going straight in with a big club. This is exactly what Fayed did with Fulham.

it would give you a sense of achievement but it can all go horribly wrong, as proven with Gretna

Two members of the consortium are now on the Notts board of directors....why they want to own Notts is another matter.....the supporters will not go from Forest so seems strange. However, Nott's ground is on prime land just waiting to be redeveloped
